Booking the Rehearsal Room:

We know you're eager to get on, but please read this to enable us to enable you to get the most out of our facilities...

Opening Hours:
The Band Room is basically open whenever the Guild is open, which is ~8am to ~11pm every week day (NOT WEEKENDS UNFORTUNATELY). However, due to it's location in the basement of the Guild, it cannot be used when the Stanley Theatre (Directly above) has a gig on.

Last year we did have some issues with the booking system where overlapping with events at the Stanley Theatre occurred. We can only apologize for this. The Guild is a big place and they put on a lot of activities and services, inevitably the odd occurrence of double booking sneaks through and it's important to remember not to get mad at the committee who bust their rumps making it available in the first place!

Room Availability:

Anyone who is a member of the Band Society can book the room, but we limit this to one two-hour session per week each for bands but two two-hour sessions for individuals. (This is because, if you have four members in your band who are all members of the Band Society that multiplies up to four sessions)

HOWEVER, in periods of over-demand, (we have yet to have one), we reserve the right (and allocate the right to the good people at the Base) to ration the room according to what we perceive to be 'fair use' in order to ensure that all members get a fair crack at the whip.

Booking Instructions:

1. Go to the Base and ask the good people if you can book the room. They will want to see your student card and your Band Society membership card.

2. They will fill out the calendar accordingly and hold the key for you.

3. On the day (and this MUST be during BASE hours) go to the Base and collect the key from them. They will hold your Band Society Membership card until you return it... So - we basically know who you are!

4. Return the key when you've finished. If this is after the Base closes at 5pm (but before the Guild closes!) you must return the key first thing the next day.

If any of the equipment breaks during your session please report this immediately. Where this is through reasonable wear and tear (and let's face it, stuff breaks when used a lot), there won't be any recriminations. However, if we find that persons have been willfully destructive or wantonly careless with these shared resources steps will be taken to remove you from the Society and Ban you from the room. Any criminal damage must be reported to the Guild and dealt with according to their procedures.

We are aiming to develop and online diary in order to help people see when the room is free.
