Open Music Night... Alternate Thursdays in the Guild
These are your first port of call for getting gigging perfmance under your belt... Need a safe place to try something new? Look no further ... We put these nights on every other week... and we do so to provide our members with thier first and most immediate port of call for getting that valuable gigging experience... a place to try out new stuff or get in your groove with your new band... and above all to just have some fun doing what we like best, making and listening to live music in all it's formats... You are welcome to perform solo, in clusters or in bands... Though we do need to know in advance if you are a band to get a running order and cater for your equipment needs, the open mic section at the begining of the evening can be a turn up and play affair... With these live nights focusing on the pool of talent to be had from Liverpool's universities, you can't go wrong ... Are you looking for a place for you and your band to actually make the leap into the city centre, but can't get gigs of your own just yet, or hell, just love playing and will play at a barn opening if given the chance (we're with you there...), then this is the answer. We talk with the promoters of Indie nights like 'Absinthe Minded' at Magnet and Indie nights at the Cabin - as well as a whole host of other people just looking for good quality student bands. Stop! the press - yes another venue that wants to help you develop your music... The dudes at Liverpool Olympia (west derby road) are starting a trial of indie nights every other sunday evening. Each night features between 5 and 7 live bands and they have offered FREE ENTRY to our card carrying members! Selected beers and spirits are only £1.50 as well so How cheap a night out can you get listening to the kind of music you like!? Flyers are available in the band room baby!
